1.1 What is atmospheric pollution?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n
Air pollution refers to the release of chemical or organic pollutants into the atmosphere. These pollutants are harmful to the environment and have a detrimental effect on plants, animals and humans. According to data from the World Health Organization, today nine out of ten people breathe air that exceeds the recommended levels of atmospheric pollutants. [1] People living in low- and middle-income countries are most exposed to these harmful effects.
\nWith the growth of the world population and the development of the economy, an increasing number of resources such as energy, water, food and others are needed by the society to maintain its activities. Human activity to produce and provide these resources leads to the release of more and more diverse air pollutants, which are:<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The sources of pollution with these atmospheric pollutants are diverse, some of them are natural (forest fires, volcanic eruptions, etc.), and others are created as a result of human activity (transportation, production, etc.).
\nAir pollution has harmful effects on the air, land and oceans. This has a negative impact on the health and quality of life of people, animals and plants and the state of the environment.
